A man kicked, bit and spat at officers whilst they tried to arrest him for damaging a fence.
Police were called at around 11.10pm yesterday (February 3), with reports that a man was damaging fence panels and cars in Dewsgreen, Vange.
When officers arrived, they arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage.
The man was then taken to hospital for checks, and whilst being detained, officers reported being kicked, spat at and bitten by the man.
A spokesperson from Essex Police, said: "We were called at around 11.10pm yesterday with reports that a man was damaging fence panels and cars in Dewsgreen, Vange.
"We attended and we arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage.
"He was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency officers and he continues to remain in custody."
