TWO men have denied stabbing a man to death and attempting to murder another.

Brian Kinloch and Scott Heaney appeared at Basildon Crown Court yesterday charged with murdering 25-year-old Asqeri Spaho last year.

Mr Spaho was found with stab wounds in Tintern Avenue, Westcliff in the early hours of the morning of December 12 and sadly died at the scene.

Another man was also attacked but was taken to hospital and did not die from his injuries.

He was helped by two members of the public.

Kinloch and Heaney, aged 31 and 22, appeared in court, speaking only to confirm their names, date of birth and nationality.

They are both charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated burglary.

It is alleged they entered a home in Tintern Avenue armed with knives and, as trespassers, attacked Mr Spaho and another man.

The duo denied all three counts.

Wesley Hendrickson, 31, of Ashcroft Crescent, Enfield is also charged with the three counts in connection to Mr Spaho’s death and is set to enter a plea at a later date.

The trial for Kinloch and Heaney has been fixed for July 13 this year at the same court.

Addressing the defendants, Judge Samantha Leigh said: “You must provide them [their barristers] with certain information, if you do not it can be like a no comment interview and the jury could hold that against you.

“I need to say that if you do not turn up for your trial it is a separate offence and the jury may also hold that against you.

“I am not saying you will not show up but you need to be aware.”

Kinloch, of Upper Holloway, and Heaney, of Highbury in London, were remanded in custody.
