A SECOND patient has died from coronavirus in Southend, it has has been revealed tonight.
In a briefing to Southend councillors, seen by the Echo, public health officials confirm a second patient has now died.
The briefing was issued to councillors at 6.30pm tonight (Thursday) saying there were nine positive Covid-19 cases in the borough.
However, officials anticipate this will increase in line with other parts of the UK.
It adds there are two confirmed deaths and the risk level remains high.
