TIPTREE Dental Surgery reopens its doors today - but patients have been told not to expect business as usual.

Treatments offered may be different to those received before, depending on the equipment and staff available, and initially dentists will not be able to use the drill or mechanical tooth-cleaning equipment.

The Church Road surgery says it will take time before services return to normal.

A message to patients said: “Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines.

“While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

“Dentists will try their best to meet your needs but there are huge limitations due to Covid-19. Please be patient.”

As a result of new safety measures in place, fewer appointments will be available each day and slots available will prioritise patients requiring emergency and urgent dental treatments.

The practice follows infection control guidelines made by the governing bodies and the surgery is up-to-date on new guidance that has been issued.

Visitors will therefore see changes when it is time for their next appointment, to help protect patients and staff.

They will be asked to use the provided hand sanitiser and wear a mask, temperature will be taken and excess personal belongings will need to be placed in the plastic box provided.

After the appointment, exit will be via the rear door to the practice only.

Masks must be placed in the waste bin provided and patients will be asked to hand sanitise before leaving.
