A TRAVEL agent says it is ready to support customers after the collapse of a cruise company.

Premier Travel, which has a branch in Halstead, says its priority is to protect customers who had a booking with the now defunct Cruise and Maritime company.

The cruise line went into administration on June 20.

A number of customers used Premier Travel to book a holiday with the cruise line.

Now the travel agent is making sure all its customers are financially protected.

Premier Travel has set up an emergency team to co-ordinate efforts to contact all affected customers.

Customers who cancelled bookings due to Covid-19 and had future travel bookings with Cruise and Maritime will be advised of alternative arrangements.

Premier Travel says it has been monitoring the situation since early July and has details of customers affected by the situation.

Director Paul Waters said: “Our customers and their travel plans are of the utmost importance to us at this time and our priority is communicating with them to reduce the impact of this failure.”

“Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all of our colleagues and friends within the Specialist Leisure Group at this time.

“Cruise and Maritime, which was founded in 2010 and has been a huge supporter of Premier Travel and will be greatly missed.”

Customers with any concerns are asked to contact their local branch or telephone 0800 3164 379.
