A HUGE military transport plane is set to fly across the skies of Southend this evening.

Southend Airport's Air Traffic Control has received word from the RAF base in Brize Norton that the C130J Hercules transport plane will be in the skies over Southend from around 6.30pm.

The aircraft is a four-engine turboprop plane used for transporting the military and their equipment.

A spokesman for Southend Air Traffic Control said: "Eyes to the skies folks, we've just received a phonecall from RAF Brize Norton.

"They're sending a C130J Hercules to Southend for some circuits at 6.30pm for crew training.

"You know the drill by now, let us know if you spot it and don't forget to tag us in the photos."
