THE mayor of Halstead has thanked a group for their work during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Mayor Mick Radley praised Halstead in Bloom to compliment their commitment to the town.
Despite the lockdown, volunteers with the group have worked hard to keep the town’s floral displays in shape.
They have even added new displays, including a recycled plastic ‘virtual allotment’ outside Halstead Hospital.
The display features fake vegetables and plants made from recycled plastic milk bottles.
Mr Radley said: “It’s fantastic to see the floral displays in the town that have been provided by the Halstead in Bloom team.
“They really provide a beautiful display and brighten up the town in this difficult time.
“We all owe the team a big thank you for the work they do and the resilience and dedication they bring to the town.”
