The eviction of travellers at Dale Farm has returned to the spotlight after a series following the events in 2011 was aired last night.
Channel 5 launched the series last night, with the eviction and the violence at the site in Crays Hill at centre stage once again.
The Echo has taken a look back in time and compiled some of the images our photographers captured at the time.
Police unleashed officers armed with riot shields at the site nine years ago to move on the travellers who had lived there since 2000.
The first episode of the series delves deeper into the decisions behind clearing the site, which cost Basildon Council £7million.
The travellers were accused of breaking planning laws.

Rocks and missiles were thrown at police as they entered the site.
Our photos show police storming the site, with a huge scaffolding style barrier built at the entrance.
Dale Farm is now a wasteland nine years on, with rubble and debris from destroyed home scattered in piles.
