POLICE made a series of arrests during a crackdown on drug and driving offences in Canvey.
Officers from the community policing team worked with the road crime team to conduct a traffic operation on Friday.
Five people were arrested for a number of offences, including possession with intent to supply drugs, handling stolen goods and theft.
One of the men arrested was wanted for assault by another police force.
Officers also seized four vehicles for having no third party insurance and recovered three more which had been stolen and were displaying fake licence plates.
Sgt Preston, from the community policing team, said "Our officers are dedicated to stopping the criminal element using the roads and bringing offenders to justice.
"Along with our colleagues from the Road Crime Team we continue to prevent crime and have safeguarded other innocent road users.
"This activity will continue".
