A MAN has denied falsely imprisoning and threatening to kill his own father.

Michael Conreen appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Friday charged with four offences.

The 27-year-old, of MacDonald Avenue, Westcliff, is alleged to have attempted to cause grievous bodily harm, falsely imprisoned and made threats to kill his father.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place between June 22 and 25 this year.

Conreen is also charged with assaulting an emergency worker, in that he allegedly spat on a police officer.

Conreen, who appeared in a dark T-shirt, spoke only to confirm his name and enter not guilty pleas to all four counts.

A trial has been fixed for the same court on March 3, 2021.
