A DRUG dealer who had an axe and pepper sprays in his room threw a box of drugs out of his window during a raid.

Justinas Baciulis has been jailed after police raided his home in Kursaal Way, Southend in June this year.

Baciulis, 25, appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Wednesday for sentencing.

Police had been investigating drug dealing in Southend and had identified Baciulis as a person involved.

The court was told that Baciulis was regularly involved in the dealing of Class A drugs over several weeks before police raided his home in June this year.

Judge Samantha Cohen said: “As a result of a police investigation your flat was made subject of a police search.

“You were there, thrown out of a window was a box which contained £685 in cash and 14 wraps of cocaine.

“A further search revealed a bag in a wardrobe with £5,000 in cash.

“On the floor in the bedroom were two pepper sprays, a knuckleduster, and an axe.

“There was also allocated scales which indicated they had been used for packing up drugs and lottery tickets, a well known way of packing up drugs.

“You failed to provide a pin number for the phone.”

The police’s analysis of the phone found messages relating to the sale of Class A drugs.

Mitigation said that Baciulis had got involved with the wrong people and was put under pressure to deal drugs in order to pay off some of his debts from his own drug use.

It was said Baciulis had been “vulnerable” and was “exploited”.

Judge Cohen added: “You were subject to some pressure because of drug debt.

“I accept your regret and remorse.

“You were also tasked by that person to accept money from other runners as well as pack up drugs.”

Baciulis was given two years and eight months for being concerned in the supply of cocaine, and a consecutive six months for possession of the pepper sprays, totalling

three years and two months in jail.

He must serve at least half of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
