A LEIGH woman walked away with £50,000 last night as she emerged victorious on ITV’s Beat The Chasers.

Chartered accountant Kat Glennie-Soares became the first contestant to beat all five chasers in the new show, winning the huge amount in the process.

The spin on ITV’s hit quiz show The Chase challenges contestants to take on any number of chasers in a bid to win cash.

After earning £1,000 in the cashbuilder round, she opted to take on all five chasers and won with 20 seconds to spare.

She said: “I didn’t look at the clocks. When it first started I was answering their questions in my head – I had to tell myself off to stop answering their questions. I knew something had happened at the end, but I couldn’t hear what was going on with the Chasers. In the end I had no idea. It was such a shock to me that I’d won.”
