MORE than 1,500 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across Essex, the latest figures reveal.
In the latest 24 hour period, 183 Covid cases were recorded in Southend, while 1,363 were reported in the rest of the county.
Public Health England figures show that 11,355 people have now tested positive in Southend, compared to 86,535 in the rest of the county.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 47,525 over the period, to 3,211,576.
Essex's cases were among the 276,767 recorded across the East of England, a figure which rose by 4,821 over the period.
