A TEMPORARY train timeable is being introduce to reduce services during the national lockdown.

c2c are bringing in the timetable from Monday, with changes across their network, including from London to Southend.

Bosses say the temporary timetable will be in place "until further notice."

The firm itself says the changes will help "protect a sustainable service", as the Government continues to remind the public to stay at home.

A spokesman from c2c, said: "Working with the Government, train companies are reducing services during the current national lockdown.

"This will ensure our service is sustainable, so fellow key workers and other people travelling for a legally-permitted reason can continue to do so.

"At c2c, we will introduce our temporary timetable from Monday 18 January.

"These changes protect our ability to deliver a reliable service for key workers as frontline rail staff, like everyone else, continue to be affected by the pandemic.

"We have worked with the Government to plan our reduced timetable, with a focus on the most popular morning and evening peak travel times.

"This will enable key workers to get to where they’re needed and have the space to maintain social distancing."
