AN AIR ambulance was deployed after a medical emergency in Southend.
Residents were surprised to see an Essex and Herts Air Ambulance landing on the cliffs near Western Esplanade in Southend on Sunday.
The air ambulance landed in the afternoon following a 999 call from an address nearby.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust said: "Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to a Southend Address on Sunday (Feb 21).
"It was following reports of a man with a medical emergency.
"The patient was transported to Queens Hospital in Romford for further assessment and care."
