A police hunt has been launched to help find the owner of these stolen vintage coins.

The pieces - some of which date back to the 1800s - were recovered by Essex Police during a raid at an address in Benfleet earlier today (February 24).

The team believe the coins were possibly stolen during a burglary or theft, however have been unable to track down the owner.

A spokesperson from Essex Police, said: "Do you recognise these vintage coins or the handwriting on the labels?

"We have recovered these during a search warrant at an address in Benfleet earlier today and are trying to identify the owner. Coins were possibly taken during a burglary or theft in a dwelling, however we have so far been unable to trace them.
