CAR bandits forced a man inside him home at knife-point before stealing cash and his expensive Golf R.

The victim was cornered by two men outside his home in Worcester Drive, Rayleigh, at 10pm on Wednesday, before they threatened him with a blade.

The men followed him inside the property and forced him to hand over car keys, cash and his mobile phone before speeding off in his car.

Friends of the victim took to social media to plead for anyone with information to contact police.

One said: “Two men in masks stopped my friend walking into his him asking about gas before holding him at knife point and stole his keys phone and car.

“Police aware. If you see this car contact the police.

“Make it too hot to handle.”

The suspects have been described as white, in their mid 20’s, around six foot tall and of a slim build.

They both had dark hair and were wearing orange fluorescent jackets.

A white van with fluorescent chevrons on the back panel was also seen leaving the area.

Cheryl Roe, deputy leader at Rochford Council, added: “Being threatened in your own home is unacceptable. You should feel safe.

“Rayleigh is a lovely town and place to live and it’s disappointing to hear. Community safety is paramount in our books.

“I hope the victim concerned is OK and police are working the victim.”

Simon Wootton, leader at Rochford council admitted knife crime is on the increase and a huge issue.

He added: “This sounds like an appalling attack and clearly needs a full investigation to understand why a knife was used in this way.

“I deploy any kind of incident involving knives and we must stamp out any kind of crime.”

Police are urging anyone who saw what happened or anyone with information to contact Castle Point and Rochford CID on 101 quoting reference 42/38549/21.
