A GRIEVING mum says she thinks about her daughter every day, as an inquest revealed the nurse died when her motorbike suddenly flipped over.

Chelsea O’Rawe-Hobbs, 29, from Canvey, who had been working at the Royal London Hospital, died after the crash in Cambridge in September last year.

The inquest on Tuesday heard how the intensive care nurse took her Honda motorcycle out for a ride, when something caused her to suddenly brake hard.

The hearing was told how it caused the motorbike to pitch forward and flip over.

Chelsea and the motorbike slid across Woburn Road, in Kempston Hardwick, Bedfordshire, for around 35 metres before coming to a halt.

Mum Maggie O’Rawe-Hobbs, 53, from Canvey, paid touching tributes to her beloved daughter, saying they now have a bench for her on Canvey.

She said: “We attended the inquest via video link and while it was tough to watch but it wasn’t anything we didn’t know.

“It’s now about learning a different way to get by, you can’t have someone like Chelsea in your life for almost 30 years and then suddenly not have her anymore.

“She had such a big personality and we are finding a different way to deal with day to day life without her.

“I think about her every minute of every day and we’ve got a bench for her at the Labworth Field on Canvey.”

The mum said it’s in the perfect spot and she, friends and family sit there and remember her.

She said lots of memories appear on social media and things pop up in life which she wants to speak to her daughter about.

The 53-year-old added: “Chelsea was so dedicated to nursing and was just starting out on her career when the Covid pandemic started.

“She was so funny and witty and had a great sense of humour too.”

The coroner gave a conclusion of road traffic collision.
