“Pupils behave exceptionally well. They have beautiful manners and treat each other kindly.

“Pupils have thoroughly understood the school’s message of ‘We give respect, and we get respect’.

“Unkindness is also extremely rare. Pupils are adamant that bullying does not happen.

“They say if it did, the adults would sort it out straight away.”

At the time of the inspection there were 207 children at the school, all aged between four and 11.

This is the school’s first inspection since converting to an academy in September 2018.

Headteacher Annabelle Delgado said: “We are all very pleased and proud that St George’s Catholic Primary School has been rated ‘good’, with three out of five areas graded ‘outstanding’.

“The inspectors recognised what a special and friendly place St George’s is, and how our children flourish and achieve well.

“I am extremely proud of everything that we have achieved at St George’s through our team effort, and I thank everyone who has played their part in this.”

Gemma Ackred, CEO of the Assisi Catholic Trust, added: “The aim of our trust is to provide the children in our care with the best possible education within a caring and supportive Catholic ethos.

“We are delighted that St George’s has been recognised as having this is at the core of the exceptional provision they offer.”
