ROBBERY, attempted GBH and burglary are some of the charges handed down as officers have made 34 arrests in an area this weekend.

Officers from the West Local Policing Area (LPA) teams have arrested teenagers in Brentwood and Tilbury.

On Saturday, March 11, three teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of robbery in Brentwood town centre earlier the same day. They remain in police custody for questioning.

Chief Superintendent Jenny Barnett, LPA commander, said: “My teams continue to work hard throughout the weekend to support victims of crimes and ongoing investigations.

“We’re particularly focussing on suspects believed to have caused serious harm to our residents, and those involved or linked to violent offences.

“The west of the county is a safe place to live and work, and we will continue the good work to keep you safe and arrest those intent on committing crime.”

A 17-year-old boy also remains in custody for questioning after he was arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH in relation to an investigation of an earlier incident.

Yesterday, a man appeared in court less than 48 hours after he was arrested and charged with a burglary in Tilbury.

A man was also arrested on a recall to prison.
