A NEW dessert parlour has opened its doors in Shoebury as people “queued out of the door” on its first day of business.

The Sweet Spot, in 51 Ness Road, Shoebury, has been opened by two friend who met in Shoebury six years ago, and one of their sons.

Owners Ricky Brown, 44, son Karl Brown, 22, and friend Hasan Kaya, 31, wanted to open the business after believing there wasn’t any place like The Sweet Spot in the area.

In just one week since opening on Boxing Day, the business has already gained more than 1,000 followers on its Facebook page and is receiving rave reviews.

Hasan Kaya, one of the owners of The Sweet Spot said: “We are so excited to finally open.

“We are a family-friendly dessert shop supplying unique desserts all freshly made in house.

“We are thrilled to open and have been overwhelmed by the support the community has been giving to us.

“There was a queue of people waiting for us on our opening day.

“We sell lots of dessert items including fresh waffles, cookie dough, cakes, and gelato ice cream.”

The business is open from 2:30pm to 10:30pm every day and offers delivery.

On the opening day, the owners handed out free baklava to whoever came in and ordered as a thank you.

The business is mainly focused on takeaway and delivery, however, there is a small seating area inside for those that wish to eat in.

Mr Kaya added: “Our dessert shop allows the youth of the community to come and have a place in the area that they can get treats that wasn’t available locally.

“We take pride in keeping our standards high and prices reasonable so we can cater for everyone in the community.

“We also want to be able to provide a place for people that haven’t got the means to travel out of Shoebury.

“Our hope is to become a well-established business and in the long-term if all goes well, we would love to expand too.”

The business has replaced “GroZone” in Ness Road.
