A MAN has been arrested following a collision which left two people seriously injured.

Essex Police was called to reports of a collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a blue BMW 320i in Doddinghurst Road, near to the Brentwood Leisure Centre, at 7.35pm on Friday.

The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, was arrested and also taken to hospital for treatment.

A man and a woman from the BMW were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Golf, a man, was also taken to hospital with injuries.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "The road was closed while we investigated and recovered the vehicles, and re-opened shortly before 3am on Saturday.
