THE franchisees behind a new restaurant in Southend High Street next week have offered a sneak peek inside ahead of its grand opening date.
Plan Burrito - a Tex-Mex street food restaurant - will be opening its doors in the High Street on Monday in the former Warren James store.
Now, the husband and wife team opening the new venue Riju Vargghese and Sharon Riju have offered a look inside the former jewellers, which was transformed with the help of well-known Southend businessman Aras Ali.
The restaurant specialises in Tex-Mex street food including tacos, churros and a full range of burritos. The full menu is set to be revealed throughout this week, with the southwest caramel smashed beef burrito shared today.
The Plan Burrito website says: "Southend, yes, yes, we will be rolling! We're buzzing to let you all know that Plan Burrito is bringing their fresh, multi-award winning grub to your spot.
"Swing by at 135 High Street, SS1 1LH. For all the sweet deals, discounts, competitions and the secret opening date make sure to hit us up on Instagram and Facebook."
On the opening day, customers whose eyes are as big as their stomachs will be able to take part in a "Plan vs Man" eating challenge which will see diners take on a “giant” burrito.
If they manage it, the brave customer will win a prize and end up on the restaurant's "wall of fame".
