DJ Fatboy Slim officially opened a new community hub and café.

Brighton and Hove Albion Foundation’s new hub in Freshfield Road, Brighton, at the site of the old Cuthbert Pub, will be serving hot and cold food and drinks as well as hosting community events.

The BHAFC Foundation is the official charity of Brighton and Hove Albion and works with more than 20,000 people in Sussex every year.

The charity announced it was moving from the Amex Stadium to its new office late last year to be closer to the communities it works with in Brighton.

Hove DJ Norman Cook, best known as Fatbour Slim, ex-Albion player and current foundation employee Guy Butters and club stadium announcer Richard Reynolds were all special guests at the opening ceremony.

The Community Hub was marked officially open when Norman, an Albion fan and a big supporter of both the club and charity, cut a ceremonial blue ribbon outside the front door.

Matt Dorn, CEO at the BHAFC Foundation, was pleased to officially open the site.

"When we moved into our new office at Freshfield Road, we had the fantastic opportunity to open this new facility for local people to come together, and I'm delighted to see it officially open for business,” he said.

"The site used to be home to a local pub, but it's been sat empty for some time now. I think it's great that local people will once again be able to use the building as a place to meet.

"We'd love to see as many people as possible come through our doors, so please do pop in if you get the chance."

The Community Hub at 136 Freshfield Road is open weekdays from 9am until 4pm, serving hot food, salads, hot and cold drinks and baked snacks.

It was designed with Albion fans in mind, with the walls decorated with club memorabilia and pictures of the BHAFC Foundation's work in action.

The opening of the hub was supported by the Premier League Fans Fund.
