A SCHOOL is celebrating after a host of pupils were awarded the Diana, Princess of Wales Anti-Bullying Award.

A total of 31 Mayflower High School pupils, from years ten and 12, were chosen for their outstanding contribution to tackling bullying in the school.

All the winners have signed up to be peer supporters at the school.

Headteacher Linda Bamford said: “The pupils were chosen for the award because of their inspirational qualities, that are demonstrated through their commitment and work in this field.

“This has involved supporting younger pupils on a regular basis in classes.”

The Diana, Princess of Wales Anti-Bullying Award, set up in partnership with the Anti-Bullying Alliance, recognises the contribution of children, and young people up to the age of 18, to tackle bullying in their schools and communities.
