I watched an inspiring programme on TV. A few schools in the UK are dualling with schools in China and adopting some of their principles of an exercise regime.

It showed children in the playground before lessons doing aerobic exercises all in harmony.

It was beautifully performed. It looked like dancercise. It was very impressive.

In both China and Japan when I was there, they made good use of their parks. There were early morning ballroom dancing sessions and aerobic exercise sessions to music for the elderly. It was fascinating to watch.

In Japan on some Sundays the park was taken over by young entertainment hopefuls. Open-topped lorries with generators and amps appeared with young bands performing, moving along were jugglers, acrobats, Elvises, singer’s open mic and so on, even some drama.

I wonder if any of our school heads saw the programme and had thought of initiating this scheme in their schools? The kids were really enjoying it.

Why am I wasting time writing this stupid letter? Here in the UK we are not people-orientated.

The country is heading steadily towards an Orwellian nightmare of surveillance bureaucracy.
