Nicola Smith hit the mark regarding the survey on waste food collections in Castle Point.

Surveys by Castle Point Council always seem to be weighted in favour of the results it wants – pretending to consult the public, but ensuring it gets the preferred answer. Like her, some of my neighbours and I did not receive the survey.

I contacted the council and was told the survey had been delivered to all residents or I could have looked at it online. Clearly the online version was weighted in the council’s favour and as the question was already loaded it would not have mattered if I had received a paper version.

As the council aims to get the answers it wants, why not stop consulting the public and just do what it wants? At least that way we would save the council tax being used to fund surveys.
