I recently had to go into Basildon Hospital. I was aware of the journey in the ambulance until we stopped at the hospital entrance, but everything then went black.
I woke up in the high dependence unit and I was told afterwards that it was touch and go. I was transferred to a ward where I spent a couple of weeks and was treated in a most exemplary manner.
I was then transferred to the Mayflower Community Hospital, Billericay. Again, I could not have wished for better treatment.
All the staff of many grades were wonderful in both hospitals.
Now that I have been home for a few weeks, they have not finished with me.
District nurses come in and Basildon Hospital calls me in for tests and to see how I am getting on.
I certainly have no complaints and am happy to record my thanks to all the staff who attended me.
