A MAN has been charged with the murder of a pensioner who died after being found with serious head injuries at a caravan park in West Hanningfield.
Garry Poore, 75, of Stock Road, Billericay will appear before Chelmsford Magistrates' Court this morning, charged with one count of murder.
Ronald Mayne, 69, was found with serious head injuries at his home on Templeton Caravan Park on Bakers Lane in West Hanningfield on February 27.
He was taken to Basildon University Hospital and later transferred to Romford’s Queens Hospital.
He died there on Wednesday, March 5.
A provisional post-mortem examination result showed that he died from head injuries.
Poore was originally arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
He was re-arrested on Monday, March 10 and charged with murder.
