A KFC will close its doors to chicken loving customers for more than a month, bosses have confirmed.
The fast food restaurant and drive-thru, at the Pitsea Retail Park, will remain closed until March, after it shut it's doors this week.
KFC is only "closed temporarily" for planned refurbishments.
Bosses refused to disclose the precise works going on inside.
Builders were spotted inside the restaurant on Monday afternoon.
A spokesman from KFC, said: "Fear not Pitsea!
"At KFC, we like to show our restaurants some TLC and this one is only closed temporarily for a planned refurbishment.
"We will be back with a bang on the 22nd of March!”
