Three people have been charged in connection with two break-ins that took place in the same night.

Police were called to a break-in at McCool's newsagents in High Street, Ingatestone, at around 2.30am on Saturday February 27.

Upon further investigation, officers found that nothing had been taken.

Police were later called to a second incident at the Co-Op in Wickford High Street at around 3.40am.

A significant amount of e-cigarette cartridges and alcohol were taken from the premises.

Officers carried out a search of the area and stopped a car on the A12 around 30 minutes later.

Three people were arrested.

Danny Brandon, 40, and Paul Robinson, 48, both of no fixed address, have been charged with burglary.

Nicola Andrews, 54, of Nightingale Crescent, Harold Wood, has been charged with burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.

They are due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' court tomorrow (Monday March 1).
