A COMMUNITY came together to enjoy a day of fun-packed entertainment.

Rayleigh churches organised the fun day at King George V Playing Field in Bull Lane, Rayleigh.

There were a wide range of free activities for visitors including bouncy castles, a skate ramp, face painting, break-dance coaching, live bands, a children’s entertainer and many side shows.

The Rev Mike Lodge, team rector of Rayleigh Team Ministry, said: “We’ve had a fantastic day and everyone has had a wonderful time.

“We’ve had loads of people here all day.

“Even at the end of the day, there were still lots of people around.”

Mr Lodge, who is based at Holy Trinity Church, said the fun day was organised as a “gift” to Rayleigh residents from the Christian community.

He said: “This is the churches of Rayleigh saying to people we care for you, we love you and we want to share something that we have experienced in our lives as Christians.

“We want to be part of the community.

“We want to see people have a good time. That is another part of our contribution to Rayleigh.”
