THE trial of Grays Athletic footballer Jamie Stuart has been adjourned again – after the prosecution requested more time to prepare its case.
Stuart, 30, who is charged with breaking the jaw of York City player Chris Beardsley last season, was due to appear at Basildon Crown Court today for trial.
But due to legal wranglings the new date for the trial has been set for Monday, September 1.
Mr Beardsley was left with broken jaw in two places following an incident on the pitch. He required surgery, involving the insertion of metal pins into his face.
