POLICE have appealed for two motorists involved in a car crash in Southend to come forward.

The accident happened as marked police car was following a silver Ford Focus along Queensway, towards the seafront at 4.05pm on Tuesday last week.

The driver of the Focus sped up, then collided with a red Peugeot convertible just before the Victoria Circus roundabout, damaging the driver’s side front wing.

The Focus failed to stop, speeding off towards the seafront with police following, before they lost the car in traffic. They returned to the accident scene to speak to the Peugeot driver, but by then, that car had also driven off.

Police want to speak to both drivers and also to anyone who knows either driver or where they can be found.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt Tony Adams at Shoebury police station on 0300 333 4444.
