A DRUNK woman took a drive in her car...and smashed it into her neighbour’s wall.
Victoria King, 28, was almost twice the drink-drive limit when she crashed on the way back from her boyfriend’s home.
The force of the smash meant police had to call a recovery truck to shift debris off her trashed Honda Civic.
Representing herself at Basildon Magistrates Court, King said: “I didn’t realise I was over the limit.
“I drank lots the night before and I hadn’t eaten all day.
“I hit the corner fast and I panicked and I went through the wall.
“I know it’s unacceptable, I’m really sorry.”
King of Horsley Cross, Basildon, was driving back from Chelmsford, after visiting her boyfriend, at around 9pm on Saturday, July 12, the court heard.
She was driving along her road, near its junction with Little Bentley, when she lost control and ploughed into her neighbour’s wall.
The wall was completely destroyed and the car ended up covered in bricks.
Police were called to the scene and gave King a roadside breath test.
She was found to have 67microgrammes per 100ml of breath – the legal limit is 35microgrammes.
King pleaded guilty to one count of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
She was banned from driving for 16 months and told to complete a drink driver rehabilitation course.
King was also ordered to pay a £220 fine, £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
