CROOKS stole scrap and sheet metal after conning security guards.
The three thieves drove up to security guards at the yard of the Ikea store in Lakeside.
They told the security guard that “Steve” had sent them and they were coming to pick up some scrap metal. The men then loaded scrap and sheet metal worth £20 on to their truck before driving away with their haul.
Police are now hunting the three men and are appealing for witnesses.
All three were white, aged in their late twenties to early thirties with an Irish accent.
One wore a yellow builders’ helmet, another wore a blue T-shirt and the third man wore black trainers and a black top.
