SCHOOL’S out and children are free to immerse themselves in a range of fun, summer activities.
Southend Council is ensuring the borough’s pools form a big part of activities during the holidays and is offering a Southend Summer Passport to use in three of the borough’s pools.
This special £15 passport, from Creating Leisure, allows children up to 16 years old to swim as often as they like at Belfairs Swim Centre, off Eaton Road, Leigh, Shoeburyness Leisure Centre in Delaware Road, Shoebury and Warrior Swim Centre, Warrior Square, Southend, from Thursday, July 24 to Sunday, August 24.
Anyone who wants a passport needs to be quick because the deadline for buying one is Sunday, August 3.
To do this, children should take their £15 fee and a passport-sized photo of themselves to any of the three pools listed, and should also check details of the passport’s terms and conditions.
Derek Jarvis, Tory councillor responsible for culture, said: “This tremendous offer will help children have a great time while keeping fit and meeting new friends – as well as assisting the family budget with all the money saved.
“I hope as many youngsters as possible make the most of this opportunity.”
