PUPILS from a Wickford school are so keen to be green they could net their school a £20,000 environmental makeover.

The group of ten pupils from Year 7 at Beauchamps High School made it through to the final of the Npower Green SOS Climate Cops Competition.

The contest has seen schools from across the UK battling it out to come up with a worthy local environmental project and make a short video.

For their entry, Beauchamps pupils formed an environmental SOS team to warn about the state of the river running through their local park. The youngsters will now compete against nine other schools in next year’s final.
