A GROUP of teenagers organised a talent show for young people from Basildon schools and youth centres to raise money for the RSPCA.

Five members of the Space for Young People Youth Centre, in Basildon, organised a Teens Got Talent show.

Ten acts performed, including dancers and a stand-up comedian.

Stephanie Palmer, 16, one of the youngsters behind the show, said: “We wanted schools and any other organisations working with young people to have the chance to show off their talent in a fun and friendly environment.

“I worked with other young people on our youth committee to plan the event and really enjoyed seeing it come together. It will be even bigger next year.”

Zac Leverett, 17, Matt Curl,18, Josie Pether, 16, and Nicola McGregor, 16, also worked towards making the show happen.

They are all regulars at the Space for Young People, off Roundacre, which is open on Thursdays from 7.15pm, to 9.30pm.
