A TROLLEY dash at a supermarket raised £2,000 for Essex Air Ambulance and the Special Care Baby Unit at Southend Hospital.
Charlie Loeber, from Shoebury, was the winner of a charity raffle organised by Thorpe Bay Rotary club, and raced round the aisles of Asda. He grabbed £180 of goods in just over two minutes.
Spokesman for the Rotary club, David Ince said: “Bob Foster, the manager of the store in North Shoebury Road, also gave him a bottle of champagne and we added two Rotary Christmas puddings.
“We are sending £1,000 to the Air Ambulance and another £1,000 to Special Care Baby Unit at Southend Hospital.”
