A CAFE is the first restaurant to sign up to a campaign aiming to make Leigh a more attractive place to shop, eat out, live and visit.

Leigh Town Council chairman, Hilary Davison, dropped in to meet Oasis Coffee House’s manager Rosemary Jones and present her with a Good for Leigh window sticker and charter certificate for the cafe.

The Leigh Road business has signed up to the Good for Leigh campaign’s restaurant charter, which asks restaurants, cafes and food outlets to keep the front of their premises attractive and tidy.

All the businesses that sign up will be listed in the campaign programme which will be distributed to all households in the Leigh Town Council area, ahead of the Good for Leigh campaign week, which runs from February 7, next year.

Restaurants, businesses and residents can apply for a copy of the charter at the campaign’s website at www.goodforleigh.co.uk
