TAILBACKS were caused on the A127 when two cars collided at Rayleigh.
The collision happened on the Southend-bound carriageway at the A127's junction with Daws Heath Road, Rayleigh.
An ambulance and two police cars were called to the scene at just before 7.30pm on Wednesday.
The cars were removed by a recovery truck, but at one stage the road had to be closed. It is not thought anyone was seriously injured in the crash.
