DANCE group Diversity are the shock winners of Britain's Got Talent.
Members of the urban dance troupe, many of whom hail from south Essex, were speechless when their triumph was revealed on the hit ITV show.
Favourite Susan Boyle, whose rise to fame made headlines across the world, came second.
The 11-strong group – who come from Basildon, Wickford, South Ockendon, Rainham and Dagenham – wowed the celebrity judges with their innovative and energetic routine.
Frontman and choreographer Ashley Banjo, 20, from Wickford, said: "I'm in genuine shock.
"We were aiming for second. “I want to say a massive, massive thank you to everyone who voted for us, especially everyone in Essex. “You’ve made our dreams come true. “If I could thank everyone individually I would, but there’s too many people.”
