A STUNNING display of diving acrobatics will take place this weekend as the British Olympic team visit Southend.
Members of the synchronised diving team will take part in an assessment camp at the new £13.5million diving centre at Garon Park, off Eastern Avenue, Southend.
Russian coach Alexei Evangulov will oversee the event, and members of the public are invited to come along and watch for free.
Derek Jarvis, Southend councillor responsible for culture, said: "We are delighted to be hosting British Swimming’s synchro diving assessment camp.
"Tthis assessment camp gives people a unique opportunity to see this fascinating sport at close hand.”
The sessions which will be open to the public will take place between 6pm and 7.30pm on Friday, 10.30am to 11.30am and 2.30pm to 5pm on Saturday and 11am to 1pm on Sunday.
