A REWARD is being offered for information about an unprovoked racist attack on a man in front of his teenage son.
The Crimestoppers charity is offering £1,000 if they have information leading the arrest and charge of the people responsible for the attack on the 46-year-old man as he walked to a mosque in Southend at approximately 4.15am on Tuesday, August 16.
The man was walking with his 13-year-old son along Chelmsford Avenue when he was assaulted by a young male, thought to be approximately 15 years old.
He was part of a group of about four other young males. The man was left with cuts and bruises to his face.
Ann Scott, eastern regional manager for Crimestoppers said: “This is a nasty, unprovoked attack which the victim perceives to be racially motivated. "It has left the victim and his son extremely shaken."
Crimestoppers allows people to give information 100 per cent anonymously on the free 24/7 number 0800 555111 and via a secure online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
