We were 9-1 winners against Whitehawk in the FA Cup on Saturday and I have never been involved in a game with that many goals. I scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup for Brighton in an 8-0 win but we were on fire on Saturday.

We were there to do a professional job and that ruthlessness has often been missing. It’s a cup game so 1-0 would have been fine but we can take a lot from it.

You could feel from the start of the game that things were clicking in horrendous conditions. We all turned up and it showed just what we are capable of.

On the flip side I was thinking about Whitehawk a bit. They are a former side and it’s natural to think about the effect a result like that could have. I know the people over there and how annoyed they will be.

Mo (Emmanuel) got three goals and I was pleased for him. We travel in together and the car is a happy place, except when we are stuck in traffic on the M25!

We like scoring and Mo is taking his opportunities. I get on really well with him. I had played against him before but he’s a good guy and long may these goals keep flowing.

We will play either Taunton Town or St Albans City in the next round and I think we would have taken a home draw before it was done. One is a team in our league who we have already beaten and one is in the league below. We still need to do a job but we are happy with that.

I have a good goalscoring record against St Albans and I remember Taunton knocked me out of the FA Cup when I was at Hemel Hempstead. So Dean (Brennan), Stu (Maynard) and I will owe them one if we play them.

It is my birthday the Tuesday after so the worst case scenario would be a draw with Taunton and a trip there for a replay!

We host Gloucester on Saturday and they are a good side although they lost their manager last week so they, like us, are in a period of transition too but at home we fancy ourselves to beat anyone.
