BASILDON United’s fine start to the season will be put to the test when they turn their attentions towards the Essex Senior Cup tonight.
The Bees, who remain clear at the top of the Isthmian North standings despite their goalless draw with Bury Town at the weekend, will welcome Waltham Abbey to the Ho Ho Stadium.
While Marc Harrison’s side remain unbeaten in the Isthmian North, their only defeats so far this season have come in cup competitions as they exited the FA Cup and Isthmian League Cup.
And Waltham Abbey will prove tough to beat as they are currently leading the way in the newly-formed Isthmian South Central.
Fahad Nyanja could feature for the Bees having joined following his release from Bowers & Pitsea.
Meanwhile, Bowers & Pitsea are also set for a cup tie this evening as they welcome Haringey Borough to the Len Salmon Stadium in the first round of the Isthmian League Cup.
Haringey are currently in mid-table of the Isthmian Premier League following their play-off final win over Canvey Island in May.
Hullbridge Sports and Southend Manor both face away trips in the Essex Senior League, facing Sawbridgeworth Town and St Margaretsbury respectively.
