HULLBRIDGE Sports under-18s manager Jason Mole admitted he was ‘chuffed’ to lead the club into the first round of the FA Youth Cup.

Nick Vanlint’s 94th minute header allowed Sports to book a tie with Peterborough United, while Archie Ellis and Owen Bellamy also got their names on the scoresheet.

And Mole confirmed he, along with assistant manager Justin Bellamy, was proud of the promising youngsters.

Mole said: “I am so chuffed with the result and what a fantastic advert for Eastern Junior Alliance football it was, where both teams had everything to play for and the prize of the glamour tie in the first round proper against Peterborough United.

“I thought our boys had given everything and it was heartbreaking when Aveley broke away and equalised with two minutes to go and, to be honest, I feared the worse as we looked like we would be running on empty going into extra-time.

“Again, we showed great courage and the never say die attitude to raise ourselves in injury time and get the winner.

“Myself, Justin and the club are extremely proud of these 16 boys.”
