It was frustrating being on the sidelines [because of a broken toe] and not being able to help in the FA Cup draw against Taunton Town.

The team did reasonably well in long periods but we defended poorly for the goals, everyone would agree on that point. We scored two good goals ourselves and the new lads did OK too. It was one of those days and once they got a man sent off it was all about getting the replay for them.

We are in the hat, which is what matters. It could have been worse.

I feel there is a lot of negativity around the performance in general but we have a chance to redeem that on Wednesday.

We have done well recently in cup competitions and that brings pressure. But we have a big squad so we can do different things with the team if we want to.

The manager made the decision on the team and we have brought in quality and it didn’t quite work out. It was one of those things, next time it might work perfectly.

We want to be in the National League and beyond and we need to make sure we can win games like that, even if we aren’t playing well.

I have been a quick healer throughout my career and because of where it is there is not a lot treatment will do. I need to manage the pain the best I can and hope the bone heals itself. I don’t think I can make it worse though. I don’t want to come back and hinder the team.

I am really happy for Mo (Moses Emmanuel). I am good mates with him now what with him being part of the car school and we knew he would score goals when he came in. He has been patient and he is reaping the rewards.

He is on 11 goals now and I am on 14. Most of his have come in the cup and mine in the league and it’s a nice competition and partnership we have going on.

It’s my birthday today! I thought I’d be heading to Taunton but I am not going and I’ll be geeing them up on Whatsapp. I don’t follow games well and I get nervous but will be keeping up to date for sure.
