SOUTHEND United defender Harry Lennon has been taken to hospital after suffering an injury in the Shrimpers' 3-0 win against Walsall tonight.
Lennon was stretchered off after just 17 minutes at Roots Hall.
But Blues boss Chris Powell has yet to discover the full extent of the centre-back's injury.
"Harry has gone off to hospital but standing here now I’m not sure whether it’s calf, knee or Achilles," said Powell.
"I am really worried about him and we could be missing him for a number of weeks."
Lennon was making his first start since recovering from the fractured toe he suffered against Doncaster Rovers on the opening day of the season.
The Shrimpers' top goalscorer Tom Hopper was also substituted with a knee problem in the first half.
But Powell is hopeful the striker will soon be back in action.
"Tom caught his knee but he’s walking about fine," said Powell.
"Hopefully that won’t be long term."
